Next Generation of Front Range Geoscientists!

dscn1478

Last weekend we held our 2nd workshop for undergraduate women interested in earth and environmental sciences #PROGRESS. More than 50 first and second year students from Colorado College, Metro State University, University of Colorado – Boulder, Colorado State University, and University of Wyoming joined us in the YMCA in Estes Park.

Each one of these women leaves paired with a mentor – a woman who is also a geoscientist in the Front Range and interested in helping the next generation of scientists succeed. In addition, the weekend workshop provided the students with a tools that we hope will increase their resiliency, helping them persevere in the face of implicit bias and difficult courses to figure out what kind of science they are passionate about.
