Each year during the first week of EV 311 we leave campus for 3 days to explore stream geomorphology and hydrology in the southern portion of the Colorado Front Range.
We visit the meandering South Platte (near Fairplay) and a fast moving boulder laden Arkansas River (near Buena Vista) before spending a day and half measuring and characterizing the hot spring rich stretch of Chalk Creek (near Nathrop) at the base of Mt. Princeton.
Next week: Macros & nutrient spiraling!
